So I have this assignment in my Dance 1010 class to research a repressed dance form. So my group and I chose Belly Dancing. I lucked out and had a chance to go see a live performance this weekend at the 9th and 9th Street fair downtown. Oh, how joyed I was with myself. I was right on top of this assignment. I made my friend Lacey go with me and tend Connelly as I took pictures and "video" tapped the dancing. In my class I have to do a presentation on the dance form and the pictures and video would really help out the presentation's overall feel. Well as I was up in the computer room today what did I learn? Oh that I'm a dimwit, a dope, a dunce, yes I did NOT record the dance. I had my camera on the recording mode, but I failed to push that tiny little button called, "RECORD". You know the button that tells the camera to record the images that it is seeing. I am taking a Dance class to satisfy the Diversity requirement at SLCC. I really like it. last week we learned West Africian Dance. http://www.westafricandance.com/ is a website to learn more. My instructor went to Africa and learned from Youssouf Koumbassa, the instructor. It is a fun dance and interesting. I have to go to two live performances. Emalia told me about a great performance that is going on Sept. 17-20 at BYU it is called "world of dance" and it is only $8-15. The website is www.byuarts.com I'm so excited to go. I have never been to a ballet. I went to byu in Dec. one year and watched the "christmas around the world" performance. It was great. Nate went with me, but I doubt I'm going to get him to go this time with me. He isn't into it much. I really like it and want to get into going to the arts more.

I went for a run this morning on the Draper, UT Porter Rockwell Trail. It was a perfect morning. The air was full of sunshine and the breeze helped keep my sweat cool on my face. Connelly was a trooper along with my dog bell. I took the whole clan. I ran/walked 4 miles. That is a lot for me lately. Maybe once I quit breast feeding it might be different. Connelly loves to be outside and in the fresh air. After I ran, we stayed at the park and watched the other kids play. Connelly and I did go down the slide and then swung on the swings for a minute, but he is still too little for all that fun just yet. But he thinks he is so big. I swear he is going to be walking in a month. He wants to do it now. I can't believe how fast he is growing. Bell must know that I put her up for sale on KSL.com because she has been a lot better and less barky lately. No one has called or e-mailed so I am thinking she is pretty safe. I absolutely love this picture of Misty May-Treanor. She kills me. I think I would look something like that too if I won GOLD. There are many pix out on the web of her and Kerri Walsh after they won. All of them are great, but this one really takes the "gold." I know I get really excited when I win. My sister says, "Kandy always has to win." So when I win a gold medal I will have some great pix out on the web too! LOL :)
