Christmas 2008

Well, we had a great Christmas. Dallynn obviously got a bike. A much needed bike. His old one was too old and didn't have brakes. That is a must have so we bought this Tony Hawk bike for him with gears. Where ever he goes around here he has to go up hills so the gear thing was a must have besides brakes. This was Connelly's first christmas. He didn't understand but it was fun. He got some fun toys. He is practicing walking everywhere. I think he will be walking soon. Holly and I took the kids to Dimple Dell yesterday to swim and Connelly actually took his first steps in the pool. They were real. Holly is my witness. I don't know if the water made him feel lighter and more confident but he did it at least for that moment. He hasn't done it since. Nate and I have decided to make new years resolutions this year and we are going to try to stick to them. We will officially announce them after we ponder them and write them down tonight. Tonight is

Connelly's first Christmas...aka Santa

I've still got it!!

You know when you watch those movies, and there is always that person who is still living in the past. Maybe they were a high school jock, or a cheerleader and they are still living in the time zone. They never put down the pom pom's or the football and they are living in the past? Well, that is me. I realized that this morning when I threw away my baby's poopy diaper. We have a garbage in our garage and I was too lazy to walk a few steps and so I decided to try and make a "basket." I promise you, I did make the basket. But what I did after is what I'm all hung up over today. After I made it, I felt good inside and out loud said to Connelly, "your mommy still has it." as I made a fist with my right hand and pulled it towards me with celebration. (I think I would have given myself "5" if I could do that.) What? Yes I am living in the past, I'm thinking I still have my basketball skills because I made a basket into the garbage can with a poop

A day to remember

Today the snow really came down. Nate told me I better shovel the snow before he got home. (I guess he thought it is my turn to shovel.) So I thought, this will be fun for Connelly to get his first taste of the snow. He didn't like it at all when I sat him down in the actual snow, but he did okay if I was holding him or if I put him in the stroller. I put him in the stroller and did our drive way. Then I decided to be an over achiever for once in my life and did the next two neighbor's drive ways too. Connelly and I had a blast. He loved watching me work and sing Christmas songs to him. Daxton and Connor, my two nephews, came out to help me shovel snow too. Daxton loved my snow shovel and asked "Where did you get it?" in a way that only Daxton can say. Kind of in a snide way. I told him Walmart and he could get one too. He actually really did help once he had a good snow shovel. The next two things are the stories that I really want to remember. Once I came in from sh

Finals

Tonight at 8 pm is my final in Biology. It has been one of the hardest classes I've taken, next to Statistics. I currently have a 102%, due to a lot of extra credit. I just lucked out with this teacher. Who offers extra credit these days? She not only offered some, but up to 100 points extra. Man that is is a whole test, or 10% of a grade. I'm a little worried about the final because it is 20% of my grade, so I could bomb it and loose my A!!! THat is scarey. I've been studying all day and I'm taking a break. I have 2 1/2 more hours and I don't know if my brain can take it anymore. If I don't know it by now, I didn't study the stuff and I won't at this point. So on to blogging..... Connelly is EVERYWHERE. He even crawled into the dishwasher today when I was unloading it. THe little turkey. He is getting over his ear infection and just really happy today. That is a relief, because he was such a bear while he was sick. It snowed today, and

Where are you Christmas

So I was watching ksl and they mentioned there was a play put on by the odgen institute of religion called, "Where are you christmas?" I did a little research and these are the details.... December 5 and 6 at 7:30 pm Family $15 Adults $5 Then Dec 6th has also a matinee at 2:30 pm for $10/family and $5 adult. It is at the Weber State University Browning Center, Austad Auditorium. You can call the institute for details at 801-621-1800 I don't know if you can buy tickets over the phone or what. I love the song "where are you christmas?" and I guess that the man that made the play is an Bishop and he thought about how people loose the true meaning of christmas. The 250 people that participate are institute students. They sing, dance, and preform. I think it will be great. I really want to go. Does anyone else? Let me know and we can carpool, meet up, or what not. We can go as a "Family." call me or e-mail at kandyclever@yahoo.com

Newport

So I'm going to Newport. You might be thinking, "California?" or you might be thinking "Oregon?" The answer is neither. It is Newport, Rhode Island..... I know, I know. I didn't know there was a Newport, RI either. And then you ask, "Why Rhode Island?" It was a great deal, because I'm going in Febuary. Yes, it will be cold, but I'm not scared off by a little cold weather. I NEED A TRIP. Come snow, rain, hail, or whatever, I'm going on this trip!!! I was suppose to go on a trip last January before Connelly came, and I didn't get out of the SLC airport. So I have tickets this time and I'm off. I have been looking at the whole state, which is only 1000 square feet total and I think it is going to be great. We are only a few hours from New York and so we will hit that one day, and then about 35 miles from Boston and Nate really wants to go there. We are taking my Mom and Connelly. It is going to be something fun to l

Found a home

Bell has found a new home. After I put her up for FREE on ksl.com, I got a ton of calls. The first little old lady that came to look at her snatched her right up. I was really surprised because Bell snapped at her right off, but I guess things are going well now. The lady called me later in the day, and said, "thank you, thank you. Bell is the dog I've waited for my whole life." She said that Bell just followed her around all day and the neighborhood kids love her. I'm so relieved.

My dog is for FREE-99

Bell is for Sell, that is for FREE-99, get it. Free.99 is a joke. I'm not charging any thing. The only catch is that you can NOT give her back. I put her on KSL.com go to it and tell everyone that you know!!!!! She needs a new home.

Holly's prego!!

My sister, Holly, is pregnant and not just pregnant but pregnant with twins. She did invitro and they implanted two embroys and we went up to the U of U today for an ultrasound and they saw two sacs. It is amazing. Congrats to Holly and Dan!!

Teething

So Connelly is officially teething. It is not fun. I miss my happy baby. I understand this is something that must happen, but can't he just sleep through it and wake up in the morning with a full set of teeth? This is what I'll be praying for tonight as I go to bed!! FYI. I'm pretty sure God will answer this prayer for sure. LOL:)

I'm thirty and kicking

Yesterday was my 30th birthday. It was nothing special. Just a normal Sunday for me. I remember 30 as being old and that my mom wore HUGE pants. I know that sounds rude but I remmeber thinking as I folded the laundry one day that I would never wear that big of pants and I'd never be old as 30. I think at the time my mom probably was a size 9 or so and was 30 and probably looked better than she ever has, but to a kid she was old and wore big pants. Well, now I'm thirty and I wear the big pants. LOL. I don't feel much older than I did at 25 or so. Maybe a little more becuase I have given birth to a child and that definatly aged me instantly. Oh well, I guess aging is a part of life and I only will get more beautiful, smarty and hopefully more patient as time goes on. So farwell 20's, HELLO 30's. !!!!!

Navy slideshow and more family pix

Reuben is home from the Navy

Reuben went into the Navy reserves in May. He is done with his training and job training. He is home for who knows how long. He thinks he will go to Afghanistan in a year or so, but until then he will just do the one weekend a month and two weeks a year thing for the reserves. We all went to the airport Friday night at 10:00 to see him come in. His luggage of course was lost so we had to wait until the very last bag to make sure it was lost and then report it lost and it did finally come to my house Saturday afternoon. Everyone came back to my house and spent the night Friday. It was really good to have the whole family there. (of course no Dan because he was out of the country on a flight) We had German pancakes with Carmel syrup for breakfast and then went for a run on the track. Reuben had a hard time running because of the higher elevation vs California. He also thought it was SO COLD!!! We teased him so much. Then we went to the park and took photos. Right when we were going to ta

Happy Halloween!

So I decided to dress Connelly up in his FIRST Halloween costume. It is a giraffe and he looks so cute in it. However, he hates being in it, as you can see, he wasn't having a good time needless to say. Even though he is crying and kicking he is still a very cute giraffe. As an update to one of my earlier posts, I did go to "THRILLER" and it is the best. It is such a great dance/play show. It is dance but they sang in it and made you laugh and have a great time. They really got the audience into it and was very interactive. Kids would LOVE it. I'm going to make sure to take mine. When you go to the play, outside the theatre they have girls all over dressed up and scaring you. They totally freaked me out and I scram like a little school girl several times. Have a very Happy Halloween.

Blessed

I have never written a spiritual thought of anything like this on my blog, but today I'm feeling very blessed and having a spiritual moment. A really good friend of mine is going through radiation for Type 0 breast cancer. She is very blessed to have found the cancer at such an early stage and being about to deal so well with it and realize how blessed she is. I have thought and thought about her and how my attitude towards giving service is. Last night I had a reminder that if I'm asked to do service for others I need to have a more Christ like attitude and not be so of the natural man and have a grudgeful attitude. Why did I have to find out the reason that someone needed my help before I had the willing attitude. I should have had the willing attitude and if I found out the reason great, but if I never found out the reason then who cares. I should have only had to know that someone, a sister, needed help in the ward and I just do it, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I was Young Woman'

A day with the Family

I always wonder why kids are so photogenic and then we grow out of it. I have the best looking family. I am the odd ball out because I'm the only one without those beautiful blue eyes. Today we spent the whole day together. It was a Friday but completely felt like a Saturday, which makes tomorrow even a better Saturday, because we get to do it "again".

Thriller

My friend, Shanna Denver, and I are going to Thriller this Saturday. I'm so excited. I have never been to a dance/Halloween show before. I am hoping it will be something that I do more often. I'm looking forward to becoming more cultured.

New Computer

So Nate needed, not wanted, a new computer. I have been out a computer for three days and I thought I was going to die. I missed out on blogging and downloading recipes. I doubt that Nate and I use a computer to the max of it's capabilities, but we of course needed a new one. The old one was four years old and according to Nate was "out dated, and too slow". It did the job for me, but I guess Nate does do Peach tree on it for his company and that supposedly slows things down. All I know it that my computer is downstairs now!! Yeah!! I wanted it downstairs because upstairs was too hot and then when the kids start working on it it is in an open environment. I love it. The screen is HUGE and the keyboard is so nice and I type way, way faster!!! The one thing about this new computer is that the computer place didn't transfer my pictures. I have a million pictures and they need to do this so until they transfer I can't update you on my family pix for now. I think, I

Silver Lake

Connelly was able to have a first hike the other day. I took him up Big Cottonwood canyon and we walked around silver lake. As you can see I was in a tank top and shorts and Connelly didn't have a jacket or anything. We started our little walk, only a mile, and it started to rain, then snow/hail. It was Crazy. Connelly didn't mind though. He had a great time.

Another photo shoot

Connelly was looking so good this day I took some photo's and then worked on them on my newest love, Picasa 2. You can add special effects and play with the pix. It is my favorite site.

I'm horizontal-Man!!

Connelly has started his newest hobby, spitting. I love it. I tried to video him doing it several times. When I finally got it, I was videoing horizontally. I am video-retarded. Why I thought it would be fun to turn my camera that angle is anyone's guess. First my belly dancing incident and now this. You'll just have to turn your head side ways. But it is cute.

Go BYU

So Nate is a HUGE BYU fan. This last weekend he and his cousin went to the BYU game. BYU slaughtered the other team. That is of course Nate's words. I don't know because I don't care. I actually hate football. I only like it because it is a reason to get together and eat!! LOL. I'm more the person that gets drinks and makes sure there is enough chips for everyone. My hubby on the other hand is a die hard. He does have season tickets and he lets me know this is a lifetime event. He is bound and determined to make Connelly a BYU fan/football. Dallynn is more a baseball/nascar fan. Nate likes those sports too, but not the same teams as Dallynn. Supposedly Connelly is going to like the BYU and 49rs. So what do you think? Does Connelly look like he is convinced?
